Made for a request at Obsession Studios [link]

I actually made 6 versions of this image; 3 without a black border, 3 with (as it will be used on a black background). But I've only uploaded one of each onto dA, the one without the border can be found here: [link] . I think I might prefer the one with the black border but maybe just because it's less empty XD

I'm pretty pleased with this! I saw the request and I had a PERFECT idea for it, but then I thought about it more and decided that idea would NOT work well with my style... (It involved turning pictures of the animals into wooden models and arranging them into a circle in a sort of totem pole style. (It's for a native-american style RPG) )
So after some major image searching, I found some more pictures which gave me this idea! I'm still not happy with a LOT of it, mainly the text, the lighting and the colouring... plus I wanted it to be a little.. 'shinier'... not as in 'sparkles' and all that, but like with the animals brighter and a little shinier, and maybe a little more ';painting' like. But my photoshopping skills still need a lot of improvement, so I couldn't quite achieve that just yet XD

But anyway, this picture took me FOREVERRRRRRR, probably the longest time I've ever spent on an image, because I played around with photoshop a lot... I decided to take this picture (despite having revision to be getting on with...) because I wanted to do some experimenting with my photoshop. So new tools and stuff that I never usually bother with, include:
- Burn/Dodge Tool
- A bit of smudging
- Some new transformation tools, such as warp, distort, skew and perspective
- I ACTUALLY bothered grouped the layers in this picture, because otherwise it would get WAY too confusing XD I have about 40 or 50 visible layers, but probably about 100 or more hidden layers XD
- I did some MAJOR reconstruction of the animals too, which I am pretty pleased with XD I made the wings less curved, the cougar's body lower down (so that it would work with the perspective) and same thing with the wolf. I decided I would experiment with doing my own mane and tail too... well, ok the mane and tail aren't completely my work, half of it is actually part of the horse photo XD But I did wispy bits and stuff :P

SOOO due to all these new tools and techniques I've used, and I don't think it's my usual style, critique is encouraged. :)

Well, enough of my babble :P

Here are the lovely stockists:

Meadow Grass Background [link]
The other backgrounds used were all from sxc.hu... but unfortunately I couldn't find them again so if anybody recognises them please let me know! (Although most of the backgrounds have been used as textures so will probably not be able to be seen XD)
